I still remember the year, when Jay Sean with the help of UK based record producer “Rishi Rish” just hit the mainstream. Ruling all the regional/national radio frequencies with his lyrical abilities on the record “Tere Naal Nachna (Dance With You)”. It was the year, 2003.
After that year, Jay had a series of massive records from “Got My Eyes on You” on his debut UK album to “Ride It” in 2008 album “My Own Way” which eventually helped him to earn a contract from one of the most talk-of-the-town recording label in the industry right about now – Cash Money Records!
And now, within a period of three years he is one of the most sought-after recording artist and the only solo artist of South Asian origin to have topped the Billboard top 100 with his track “Down” in 2009. No wonder, a lot of DJs and producers wants to collaborate with him. One of those collaborations, surfaced quite a recently is titled “Back to Love” with the production duties being handled by DJ Pauly D.
The original version is your regular dance track. No difference worth mentioning, as far as the over-all value of production is concerned. However, a few days back Jay released a new, rather acoustic version of the same as a CandleLightMix which consist of a whole new verse in Hindi, hard to believe – his Mother tongue? (debatable).. but he sounds fine as ever!
And, it’s a welcome decision. Considering how far he has come in terms of being successful and still close to his roots. Only justifies his success.
I’ve managed to spot an official stream for the track. Not too sure, if it’s available on the iTunes yet? Cause, it might just be an un-official remix. But, Indian fans. You are going to love this one! And don’t forget, his new album “Neon” is almost in the final stages of recording.
